If the detectors are not sensitive to all gases, why can I check them with the gas of a lighter?

Lighter gas contains components that activate the two types of detectors.

The difference between one detector and another is the type of sensor used, each sensor is sensitive to given components.
Refrigerant gases are made up of a mixture of components.
What makes a given sensor detect a given refrigerant gas is that it is sensitive to one of the components of said gas.
Lighter gas contains components that activate the two types of sensor although with a different sensitivity, and therefore it can be used to check both of them, but using different distances and exposure times.
