Following our untiring pursuit to always work side by side with our clients, AKO has recently moved to Houston, right at the center of the energy capital of the world.
Our international expansion is not new to us, in fact, it is embedded in our DNA. Over the past 35 years, AKO has successfully conducted business in over 90 countries around the world. We are not newcomers to the American market either. AKO Engineering, Inc., our American company, was established a couple of years ago in Phoenix, Arizona, and in just two years we were able to successfully undertake highly technically complex projects such as Solana, in Arizona, Crescent Dunes in Nevada or Hugoton in Kansas.
Now we have decided to move to Houston. Why? Because our clients are here. Houston has become the place to be in if you are into the energy business, a vibrant place that has drawn the attention of the globe´s biggest corporations. No doubt that it is our duty to be here.
From Houston we will also manage projects in Latin America via our Mexican company: AKO Mexico. We are an American company with our eyes on the Latin American market. A strategic move that allow us to better serve the needs of our clients from the heat tracing as well from the refrigeration industry.
To celebrate our move to Houston AKO hosted a cocktail reception last Tuesday, October 21st along with the local law firm Haynes and Boone. The event was attended by prominent figures from the Oil & Gas industry from companies such as AECOM, Foster Wheeler, Shell, Phillip 66, EPP, Repsol, Técnicas Reunidas, among others.
We also had the honor to have the attendance of members of the diplomatic corps, as well as the Honorable Edward González, Mayor Pro Tem from the City of Houston who presented a Proclamation declaring October 21st as AKO Engineering Inc. Day.
The distinguished audience that attended the event had the chance to witness the exclusive release of AKO´s new corporate video that highlights the core and mission of our company. They also received a presentation with more extensive information about us and listened to Josep Lluís Bescós, CEO of AKO Group, giving a passionate speech about how AKO has come a long way to finally end up settling in Houston with a clear proposition: To become the new key for Houston´s business. A proposition backed by a strong balance sheet and a solid history of sustainable growth.
We are delighted by the warm welcome we have received from the city and its business community, and excited about what is yet to come. Our message is clear: We are a global company with a local approach. An American company, settled in Houston, ready to become the “New key for your business”.
