AKO opens a new office in Houston
Faithful to our desire to always be at our clients’ side, AKO has recently moved to Houston, to the heart of the energy capital of the world.
Our international expansion is not a new strategy for us, in fact, this modus operandi is intrinsic to our DNA. Over the last 35 years AKO has conducted business in over 90 countries around the world. We have not just landed in the American market either. AKO Engineering, Inc., our American company, was established a couple of years ago in Phoenix, Arizona, and in just two years it was able to successfully undertake several projects of great technical complexity, such as Solana, in Arizona, Crescent Dunes in Nevada or Hugoton in Kansas. We have now decided to move to Houston. Why? Because our clients are there. Houston has become the place to be if you want to be relevant in the energy sector, a dynamic city that attracts the largest corporations in the world. From Houston we also manage projects in Latin America through our Mexican company AKO Mexico. We are an American company with an eye on the Latin American market. It is a strategic manoeuvre that allows us to better serve the needs of our clients in both tracing and industrial refrigeration.
AKO receives a warm welcome
To celebrate our move to Houston, AKO held a reception on 21 October alongside the Haynes and Boone law firm. The event was attended by executives from different companies from the oil and gas sector, including AECOM, Foster Wheeler, Shell, Philip 66, EPP, Repsol and Técnicas Reunidas. We also had the honour of hosting members of the diplomatic corps, as well as the Honourable Edward Gonzalez, Mayor of Houston, who granted us a Proclamation declaring the 21 October as AKO Engineering Inc. day in the city.
Attendees had the opportunity to get an exclusive look at our new corporate video which describes the essence and mission of our company. They also attended a presentation with more detailed information about AKO, and heard a passionate speech given by Josep Lluís Bescós, CEO of Grupo AKO, who spoke about how we have come a long way to finally arrive in Houston with a very clear objective: Becoming the new key for Houston companies. A proposal backed by a solid financial balance and an impeccable track record characterized by sustainable growth.
We are delighted with the way Houston and its business community have welcomed us and excited about the expectations that the future holds. Our message is clear: We are a global company with a local focus. An American company, now in Houston, prepared to become the new key to the city’s companies.
